Classic Carriage Service is located in the southern foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in Johnstown, New York, and has been servicing the capital district and Mohawk valley regions since 2000.
Our horses are used not only for carriage and wagon rides for the business, but also for showing, 4-H events, draft horse club events, and clinics. 4-H members frequently handle and work around them.
Classic Carriage Service also offers single horse and team driving lessons to interested individuals, using our horses and vehicles
Tamara Healy, sole proprietress of Classic Carriage Service, is a third generation horsewoman who continues to farm on the land that has been in her family since the early 1900’s.
She began her involvement with draft animals early on in the 4th grade when she trained her first team of oxen.
Horses were always a part of Tamara’s life, but it wasn’t until 1985 when she was in high school that she had the opportunity to drive and work with draft horses.
In 1988, Tamara and her father, Hugh, acquired their first team of draft horses. She has been working, training, and showing drafts horses ever since.
